Amok Posted November 29, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 29, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello everyone! I'm skateboards photographer from Poland and I looking for a fisheye lens to leica M mount. I reading about Rokkor-OK Minolta 16mm - is good choice? other alternative (or leitz -R 16mm - the same glass?) ROKKOR-OK - its really OK? :D What about adapter and focusing? If I turn ring at 1 meter - sharpness is at 1m? (with adapter - maybe novoflex? Leica M - minolta MD) Thanks for answers! :)

a.noctilux Posted November 29, 2018 Share #2 Posted November 29, 2018 (edited) Welcome Amok, I don't have/use the Rokkor fisheye 16mm, but use two F.E. on my Ms , Nikkor fisheye 3.5/16mm and Pentax screw smc fisheye 4/17mm. Nice results and no worry for focus with good adapter ( = accurate thickness very important ) just set the focus at infinity for lanscape and 1m to 2m for closer. Plenty of depth of field from f/5.6 . https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/253730-your-ultra-wide-angle-uwa-pictures-10mm-to-21mm/?page=2&tab=comments#comment-2941593 (Takumar fisheye 4/17mm on Monochrom with color built-in filters) Welcome, dear visitor! Mark II Posted January 7, 2019 Share #3 Posted January 7, 2019 A bit of a late reply, but yes, the Minolta Fish Eye lenses work great on a Leica M body. I wrote a short review here, with a mix of images taken with Minolta film and Leica M digital. The version that I have is the last of the series (I think there were ~ four distinct models), which has slightly improved coatings over older lenses. There is some very slight softening when at closest focus, but nothing that I would consider problematic - not least if shooting moving subjects. Sharpness is good wide open, and out resolves the M10 sensor from f4 onwards even in the corners. There is minimal purple fringing even wide open, and the depth of field is so great that focus is seldom an issue even on cameras without live-view (the obvious exception being shots wide-open very close to the closest focus distance).
