David E Posted November 22, 2018 Share #1  Posted November 22, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm new and didn't see this posted here. I use modern 625 batteries in my SL and used my Canon 50d as my standard. I copied this procedure long ago. If you damage the leatherette, you can buy a sheet of it cheap on ebay. I took my first photos with my Leicaflex SL in 1969 when my Grandfather came for a visit. He gave it to my Mother who gave it to me. I have been using it on and off for about 25 years. Leica calibration.docx

TomB_tx Posted November 22, 2018 Share #2 Â Posted November 22, 2018 Thanks for posting this it is helpful. Another common issue with the Leicaflex SL is deterioration of the CdS cell caused by moisture penetration. This lowers the "no light" resistance of the cell, which can limit the range over which you can adjust the circuit, so it will only work correctly in fair to bright light, underexposing in lower levels. The only cure for this is replacing the CdS cell.
David E Posted November 22, 2018 Author Share #3  Posted November 22, 2018 (edited) I don't think I have seen any loss of low light performance in mine over the years.  I don't take many photos these days in low light conditions without using my Pentax light meter and then I will more likely be using my Pentax 6x7. I dread the day when I can't use my SL anymore. Edited November 22, 2018 by David E
