Zoom issue

I am at the beginning stages really of using the camera and a problem that keeps coming is I zoom into the subject I want to photograph and just as I click the button to take the photograph, the image zooms out? How do I correct this?

Karla, welcome to the forum.

There is no zoom on a Leica Q camera. Are you referring to the in-camera crop line function? If so, please explain in a little more detail what you are trying to do.

Yes, welcome, Karla!

Perhaps you is referring to the close focusing one can get with the up and down arrows? As you take the picture, the focus reverts back to normal.

Or are you using manual focus? If so when you focus the image zooms in so that you can get precise focus but then goes back to the normal view to take the shot.

Alternatively, you have unwittingly bought an early release of the Q2 ahead of time with the new zoom lens still in beta and not quite functioning as intended ...😉

As others have said, that is not a zoom.  It is a magnified view -- you can select 3X or 6X -- to help better obtain focus.  Once the shutter is half pressed the viewfinder or LCD returns to the normal view to take the image.
