Unique and creative approach but limited to have others do the same thing. It requires machining and experience to get the adapter right, plus the two independent focus systems seems like a struggle to handle. I personally find the final photos not too convincing either to go this route.

Each of the principal formats (square, 4:5, 5:7, 3:2, 16:9) have their proponents.  With the excess of pixels on many digital cameras today, it seems correcting the format in post-processing gives excellent results.  The attached 16:9 image is from a Nikon D810 shot with the native 3:2 format.  I guess for those who print really big an anamorphic lens on a medium format camera would allow much larger prints.
