The red dot took about 20 minutes of twisting to loosen and come off. All that was under the red dot was a hole, no threading. I then did the same with my CL. This one came off in about 2 minutes, very easy and it looks terrific with the black dot. The M10 was another story. After about 2 months of trying to get the red dot off, I finally gave up. It just would not budge. I could twist it a bit but after about a half hour or more of trying several times over the 2 months, I just decided it was too stubborn. When I asked Don for help, he said find a strong teenager to twist it off -- curious response but oh well. I even asked him if he would do it for me and he told me the cost of shipping the camera to him might be prohibitive. So, I keep the red dot.
