Fantastic, Lmax. Is it too simplistic to observe that this is SO Düsseldorf? In the best possible way!

Wow! Now this is different! You must have had to get out the protractor, the slide rule and abacus to come up with the geometric alignments. But the colors! The colors work so well here in sympathy with one another, repeating to form a kaleidoscope of mathematical ingenuity. Red slicing bold diagonals, yellow describing a bold and stable center, the muted greens and pastels shoring up the strength and sense of solidity. and speaking of solidity, it's only then that we realize and recognize and tip our hat that this is all hard surfaces (sorry! PICTURES of hard surfaces!), repurposed and appropriated in the service of art.

Thanks, Phil, for your perspective on this "repurposed" piece, taking a pedestrian shot and jigsawing it into a Bauhaus-like lattice work. After I finished it, I put it on the shelf for weeks to see if it would jerk to life a tad when I came back to it. I appreciate that you found something in it. Here's another one I nudged around a bit for fun. It might work for Pringle argyles?

Very inventive triptychs, Steve, recasting of the Italian Renaissance altar piece. Both color and black and white. Interesting subtext of media.

Quite captivating constructions, both triptychs. The Renaissance altar piece through the lens of 21st-century media.

Thanks Rog,

For me Corona has been quite restrictive photographically, so I’ve had to think somewhat out of the box.

And, thinking "out of the box" puts a lot of us in the same box. You are creating an ingenious refraction of the box with your triptychs. Perhaps we'll work our way back to the 17th-century Dutch perspective boxes and the camera obscura. I remember a short film by the Quay Brothers, called Anamorphosis, very interesting stuff on YouTube, no doubt. I really warm up to your re-visioning of media, which says something about media re-visioning the world with its peculiar lens that lends a whole vernacular to visual language.

Anxious to see more of your media triptychs and polyptychs. (See, polyptych is so rare that even spellcheck refuses to recognize it.)

Hi Rog,

I’m having problems with the YouTube link you provided. Would it be possible to check and repost?

(PS I’ve just noticed a superfluous period between the letters ‘u’ and ‘b‘ in YouTube and I know have it working.)
