leitz_not_leica Posted July 14, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have this LTM(?) 21/4, 1644XXX and IWKOO hood. I know a factory installed adaptor was provided for use on the M cameras, but Luigi of leicatime.com AND Lager e-mailed me that the M lenses had a grub screw and a "receiver" on the barrel of the lens. I cannot find a depression on the barrel, not even a painted over one (Luigi). I know Leica kept records of production numbers, as I see them referenced in several of my Leica books. Does my serial number indicate LTM or M?
Advertisement Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Hi leitz_not_leica, Take a look here 21/4 Super Angulon LTM?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted July 15, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 15, 2007 I think you cannot know through s/n if your lens was originally delivered as a BM or TM : the lens in itself was always built with a screw mount (maybe by Schneider factory... it has a chroming not in Leitz style of the time...). But you can see it by yourself with the aid of a lens : those which were delivered for BM had the adapter fixed by a VERY TINY screw : you could find the hole (tiny, not easy to find...). anyway, even if you cannot find the original BM adapter, you can use the usual SM to BM adpter that abound and are still available from CV... less elegant, but they work... there is no problem of frame selection, of course...
