I have thought about going and they do sound tempting, particularly given such picturesque destinations like the Lofoten Islands. If there are any forum members who have gone on one of these Leica sponsored photo tours, please tell us about the experience; those of us who have not yet been would greatly appreciate hearing about your adventure and hearing your insights regarding these photo expeditions. Thanks! Edited September 11, 2018 by Herr Barnack
Advertisement Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Hi Herr Barnack, Take a look here Leica Photo Adventure: Lofoten Islands, Norway. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pico Posted September 11, 2018 Share #2 Posted September 11, 2018 Thanks for that, Herr Barnack. Very tempting and I, too, look forward to others' experiences. I will add that the greatest part of my youth was becoming lost in odd European places with a new M2.
Herr Barnack Posted September 11, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted September 11, 2018 (edited) I will add that the greatest part of my youth was becoming lost in odd European places with a new M2. That sounds like photographic Nirvana. A friend did likewise, but in China. He spent a year traveling by foot through China and neighboring Asian nations. Seeing as how I wasted the years of what was supposed to have been my misspent youth with my nose to the grindstone and shoulder to the wheel, I am now on a quest to make up for those poor life choices by traveling and photographing in the autumn years of my time on our Blue Marble. For the life of me, I can't come up with anything better to do; thank Heaven above for that. stuny Posted September 13, 2018 Share #4 Posted September 13, 2018 Allan - I applaud your life-change. We too are very much into travel, and when Barbara selects a destination and does her exquisite research she always keeps my photography interests in mind. We began seriously traveling about 30 years ago, realizing that others who have waited for retirement were sometimes physically unable to travel. You might want to consult our website for Barbara's trip notes and my photos for travel ideas and hints for your own adventures. And if you get to the NYC area, be sure to let me know - Perhaps we can meet.
