Leicamateur Posted July 14, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) During my holiday, visiting my aunt I was quite surprised to find a stag beetle in her garden. I didn't see one in at least 20 years. Taken with a Lumix TZ3, second photo has been cropped.
Advertisement Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Hi Leicamateur, Take a look here Lucky find . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted July 14, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 14, 2007 Marc - Both are technically excellent, but I much prefer #2 since it shows us how the beetle's colleagues would see him -- A much, much better angle. BTW: I find the watermark to be very distracting.
Leicamateur Posted July 14, 2007 Author Share #3 Posted July 14, 2007 Thanks for your nice comment Stuart, though I wouldn't say they're technical perfect. I just got lucky with the light and all and the small fella didn't move a lot giving me a chance to take a series of photos. I guess you are right with the watermark but I want to protect my work somehow even if I'm not a professional, I wouldn't want finding my photos somewhere else without my consent. Maybe I'll make it smaller or even more transparent.
spylaw4 Posted July 14, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 14, 2007 Very nice photos Marc, even if he is not the prettiest bug in the world! Reducing the watermark's obtrusiveness would be a good idea, but I appreciate your wish for protection.
