pw1 Posted September 7, 2018 Author Share #21 Posted September 7, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Actually, the main reason I invested in Leica is do things old school again. I bought my first slr in 1972. Really am enjoying the act of photographing again. Really appreciate this forum also.
Advertisement Posted September 7, 2018 Posted September 7, 2018 Hi pw1, Take a look here Just purchased demo Mq10. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
cp995 Posted September 7, 2018 Share #22 Posted September 7, 2018 That sounds like a good combo. Do you use evf with 21? I rarely use LV; mostly I take my tiny Voigtlaender 21/25 finder.
otto.f Posted September 7, 2018 Share #23 Posted September 7, 2018 (edited) If you don’t want to spend so much, you can think of the Elmarit 24 instead of the SE 21. For me it’s one of the lenses I never think of selling. It is perfectly doable without a separate viewfinder which is a big advantage for me above anything wider than 24. Combine it with the 50 Elmar-M and you’re all set. Voigtlander is nice and sometimes beautiful, but in the end you want Leica anyway, so that makes more sense moneywise. The only Voigtlander I have is a 15mm because it’s so unique, but that’s not a lens to start with. Edited September 7, 2018 by otto.f
M11 for me Posted September 7, 2018 Share #24 Posted September 7, 2018 When I bought my 21 SEM I wondered what I needed as a viewfinder. But very soon I found out that I could very well guess the portion of the picture that I do not see in my OVF. For me in the meantime its no problem any more. Further with 21mm you can very well do street without looking through VF at all. For that I have a very small spirit level that I insert into the flash shoe. Its a lens that I use a lot mainly in towns.
