FredR Posted August 28, 2018 Share #1 Posted August 28, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) My Leitz Pradovit Colorplan 250 Autofocus projector all too often will not pull a slide from the tray into the projector, requiring me to return to the projector and push the mechanism and slide a few millimeters before the machine pulls the slide in. Typically this will happen repeatedly. I've looked at the trays and the "slide transport arm" (No. 9 in the photo), and I'm tempted to take a file and start modifying the latter. But I know it's probably just an adjustment - somewhere. The original instruction booklet does not address the issue. Has anyone prior similar experience who can advise me, or point me to a webpage or video with troubleshooting advice for this projector? I've been unable to find the solution through searching the internet. Thanks in advance for your help! Welcome, dear visitor! TomB_tx Posted August 29, 2018 Share #2 Posted August 29, 2018 I think I remember having to replace a drive belt inside that had stretched. That was some years back, and did get the projector working, but the autofocus would never lock on. I found a Leitz tech bulletin about repairing autofocus by changing components on a circuit board, but never got around to trying it.
FredR Posted September 5, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted September 5, 2018 (edited) I think I remember having to replace a drive belt inside that had stretched. That was some years back, and did get the projector working... That's good to hear, because I ordered a belt last week from Van Eck in Tilburg, Netherlands. I hope the replacement procedure will be obvious, because Van Eck only has Dutch and German service manuals, neither of which I read. I replaced both switches (power and bulb) which was a real PITA, but it was a success, so I think I can handle it.
