I am framing some prints without mattes; thst is, the pic goes to the edge of the frame and sits behind frame spacers.

I need a glud to stick the back of the print to the mounting board behind it.

Any suggestions for an archival solution?

tnx,

Framed my first pic last night with the 3M stuff. Cool.

AND, this particular pic has a detail on the right edge that I wanted to show inside the frame area (read: add extra 1/3 inch to right side of print).

Naturally my stupid assistance forgot to remind me to do this so I have to reprint and reframe.

The glue works well, tho.

I also have been using the 3M glue to dry mount A3+ prints on MDF board. Worked fine at first but after a month or so, the prints are now falling off. I have now gone to using a Scotch liquid glue which comes in an applicator with a small sponge at one end and a bigger one at the other. Nothing like as easy to use as the spray but nothing has fallen off yet. I now have a bigger challenge to mount an A0 print on MDF board, which is beyond the little applicator. I am going to use clear Neoprene glue and a large spatula but it will be a two or three person job to get the print on and aligned properly before the glue sets. Someone else suggested wallpaper paste.

I have just looked at the Light Impressions link above - thanks Francisco - and I like the look of the Rollataq machine, which is much bigger version of the Scotch applicator I have. I think it looks a much better bet than Neoprene glue and a spatula. The downside is I won't get as high as a kite mounting the print.

Hi Wilson, I think that may be down to using MDF as the backing. I've used the 3M stuff on cardboard mounts and the prints are still stuck in place 3 years later.

Of course the prints have faded badly, but that's down to the printer I was using at the time <grin>
