SL2-S Reporter ~ VE 90-280 @ 280 handheld.  ISO 4000 without need of noise reduction.  I loved how this lens handled this indoor event.

Does anyone use a polarising filter on the 90-280? And do you think such a filter would be a priority for landscapes, colour and clarity on this lens.

Hi Ken.  I have only had my 90-280 for a couple of weeks.  But from prior landscape work with the Nikon system and glass I seldom found the need for one for sky use.  However, one  exception is Polar Pro's Quartz Line polarizer/ND circular filter that I use for long exposure and water reflection reduction for waterfalls.  But I have yet to try it on the Leica 90-280.  I would like to take it with me to try it out at the Grand Teton NP. If you do keep me posted as I would be curious how it works out.  But the brilliant colors I am getting out of my SL2-S/Leica SL glass I am not sure if it would harm or help.

Thank you for your reply MF. I too have had the 90-280 for only a few weeks. I haven't seen the need for a polariser in the lighting conditions so far either. I purchased a Nissi CPL and 6 stop GND for potential use in the Australian outback. I figured some long shots - landscapes would benefit the filter so I have it just in case.

Best

Losing interest.  Notice the ball glove is slowing sliding off his hand while standing on the pitcher mount looking into the dugout.

Very nice composition.

Love the “layers” in this image and interplay between textures and colors 👌

Another amazing wildlife picture Mike...I can't get enough natural history stuff.

Love the backlighting on the sliver dribble, grasses and bright hair.

Very superb; with the wider context.
