Bunza Posted July 26, 2018 Share #21 Posted July 26, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi There Bunza I do use auto ISO, the later firmware has changed the base from 100 ISO (where highlights could get blown) to 200 ISO (where they don't): Here is an explanation of this: http://www.slack.co.uk/m10-and-blown-highlights.html I use daylight white balance (sunny) for everything - except when I'm in artificial lighting in which case I use Auto - I don't often change it in favorites, but I can check to see what it is. hope that helps best Thanks Jono, That all makes sense. Thinking about using preset WB instead of auto, I can understand why you would do as you do, I’ll be giving that a try for sure. Good Things
Advertisement Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Hi Bunza, Take a look here M10 - Favourites menu. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Nordvik Posted July 27, 2018 Share #22 Posted July 27, 2018 Interesting to see how others choose their favourites menu. In order of most used: 1. Format SD. All the time. Even if I have taken only one picture. 2. Lens Detection. I have many lenses that are not coded. 3. Drive Mode. I like to use tripod, so I use self timer a lot. Really miss having this on the on/off switch like on M8/M9. I use Jpg Settings to switch between colour and monochrome for the EVF. WLAN for det phone app. Only used it for testing. The rest I do not use. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! M11 for me Posted July 27, 2018 Share #23 Posted July 27, 2018 Do you then format the card each time? I only delete the pictures on the card. I do this though in the camera.
Guest Posted July 27, 2018 Share #24 Posted July 27, 2018 Do you then format the card each time? I only delete the pictures on the card. I do this though in the camera. After offloading the files ... always do a format in camera ... I do one each day after I confirm that the files are safely in two places on my computer and can see them in LR. This will avoid the potential of corruption of files and loss of images. Has worked for me for the last 15 years ... only files I lost was from a backup to CD ... multiple copies made redundant when they changed the protocol for writing. I was able to salvage many but not all with a program named isoBuster ... still upgrade as it is able to find most anything. Bob
01af Posted July 27, 2018 Share #25 Posted July 27, 2018 I only delete the pictures on the card. I do this though in the camera. That's a bad idea. Re-formatting is quicker, safer, and means less wear on the memory cells. I never delete anything on a memory card. Instead, I always re-format. M11 for me Posted July 28, 2018 Share #27 Posted July 28, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you re the issue of deleting vs formating. As a matter of fact we could recently read from a marketeer of a card producer (I forgot which one it was), that we have absolutely to format and not to delete. On the other hand since about 2003 since I had my first digital camera I always look through my pixctures on the screen of the camera and often I delete on the spot. After loading the pictures onto the computer and after having made the backup I delete the content on the memory card. I do that in the camera. And I never had any problems yet. Maybe I was just lucky Edited July 28, 2018 by Alex U.
