Female Emperor Dragonfly Ovipositing Leica SL 601, Novoflex 'Follow Focus' with bellows extension, Noflexar 600mm f8 plus stacked Leitz 1.4x and 2x APO extenders … effective 1680mm f22 Photographed at a distance of approx 4.5m i.e. to the middle of the pond. The Emperor dragonfly is the UK's largest hawker i.e. approx 80mm long … thus image shows specimen at approx half life size on the camera's 36mm sensor width. Probably the same specimen as photographed in flight https://www.l-camera-forum.com/topic/286489-female-emperor-dragonfly-in-flight/?p=3553836 … which also required use of stacked extenders. The Noflexar 600/8 is a two element achromat and part of the 1960's - 80's modular Novoflex 'Follow Focus' system … once popular with sports and wildlife photographers and still capable of good results … and a very cost effective s/h purchase compared to modern telephoto designs.
