Guest Posted July 15, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 15, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Ok, admittedly it's been some six months or so since I last pulled the Q out to shoot with and maybe I've forgotten too much about it's operation but I've noticed something this evening on running through the new V3 firmware that I can't saw I saw before........ When the camera is on Auto, ( Auto on the shutter speed dial, Auto on the aperture dial and with AF selected ), I find that upon review all the shots have been taken at f1.7, is this normal? Can't, shouldn't, the camera on Auto iris select a smaller aperture if there's sufficient light as if it was on "Programme". The Q is set to P-A-S-M. Thanks for any clues you can offer...... bags27 Posted July 15, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 15, 2018 On every version of the firmware, the default aperture on automatic as been 1.7, which Leica engineers believe to be the sharpest aperture and of course gives you the lowest ISO. If you want more depth of field, you set the aperture yourself.
