Any new chrome lenses in the near future?

Why then there is no difference in weight between a chrome and a black body... can't they use the same materials for the lenses?

 

Actually the top plate and the removeable bottom plate of the M8 *is* made of brass. In fact they are milled out of a solid brass plate which results in a level of quality that is unatanuable in a cheap stamping or casting. And that bottom plate is heaaavy.

The rest of the body is a magnesium casting for lightness and strength, but it is covered up with the leatherette.

Leica traditionally always used brass for most of the camera body. That is what gives such a beautiful durable finish. However, I believe that the M5's and some of the M6's used a die casting that had a less durable finish. Someone can straighten me out on that.
