MrEd Posted July 10, 2007 Author Share #2 Â Posted July 10, 2007 ..................B&W version............
Guest Metroman Posted July 10, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted July 10, 2007 The light and tones work in both but I like the B&W - gives it the 'Big Brother' feel and more dominant.
kuddel Posted July 10, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted July 10, 2007 Ed, to me the view remains on the building in the colour picture, but in the B&W it stays more on the left in the sky and the area with the tree and the dynamic movement of cirrus clouds. I prefer the B&W too. Â Regrads, Andreas
azzo Posted July 10, 2007 Share #5 Â Posted July 10, 2007 Ed, Â It looks very promising in both versions, but will have another look at it this eve. Â Azzo
stuny Posted July 10, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted July 10, 2007 Ed - Â I like them both, and the colors in the color one are superb. However, I think the same shot a bit wider to take in more of the base of the building would have made the color one the winner. As the image stands, the missing base doesn't bother me in the B&W, so B&W wins this match. where in NYC is this? Near City Hall and the court houses? azzo Posted July 10, 2007 Share #9  Posted July 10, 2007 Ed,  I hate when somrthing like this happens..when you can't decide. IMHO, they both look great....two different moods altogether. If this image is for a competition or for the wall, i'd print both and decide later..... ....phew !...got out of that the best way I could  Azzo
Artichoke Posted July 10, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted July 10, 2007 but I like the BW the building is a humdinger ...I am surprised that Stuart does not know it (or the Jefferson Market Courthouse) these both are classic NYC buildings and favorites of mine well photographed with a stunning sky ...I may like it even better than the magnificent one you posted of the courthouse
