waynexu1998 Posted July 4, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am just curious if you need to get your limited edition vulcanite replaced. Does Leica replace it for you? I mean the same leather as the limited edition? I recently purchased the Leitzpark version. Just wondering Incase the vulcanite breaks, can I ask them to replace the same original style?

feelssadman Posted July 4, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 4, 2018 Congrats on getting a limited edition Leica M in your age! (Assuming that the year in your username represents your birth year) Any company which produces limited edition items will of course have spares of that edition ready and they will service the Leitzpark edition just as any other M. Don't worry.
tobey bilek Posted July 4, 2018 Share #3 Posted July 4, 2018 Vulcanite is rubber vulcanized to bare body shell with heat. Dries with age. Can not repair to original. M4-2 and later or maybe M6 have plastic with adhesive. Never had the plastic go bad, but it does need to be removed for some service. No idea if they stock spares. jaapv Posted July 4, 2018 Share #4 Posted July 4, 2018 I'm sure they do. Otherwise Cameraleather and Aka-Asahi have something that is very close to the Vulcanite look. I agree, this stuff won't break the way the old Vulkanit did.
