I cannot find a way to adjust exposure bracketing away from being centered at 0. Is there a way to adjust the bracketing then slide it left or right to brighten or darken the entire 3 shot series? That’s easy to do on my Canon 5D3.

Go to Main Menu —> Exposure Bracketing —> use the wheel or control button to select the +/- EV bracket you want. Q allows only 3 exposure bracket shots with +/- X EV. I don’t think you can set the middle shot at any other EV value than 0.

This can be programmed in FN for quick access.

Try setting exposure compensation?

Well, I am gobsmacked. It works. It shows up differently than I expected, but in fact exposure bracketing and exposure compensation work independently. I have yet again displayed my ignorance AND learned something new. Pretry cool.

I was looking for three points on the exposure indicator at the bottom of the screen and then being able to slide the three left or right with compensation. That’s the way my Canon works. Leica is different, but the end result is the same and I can live with it just fine.

Thanks iTiki!!!!

I've followed this thread with interest but I've another issue with exposure bracketing. Following Youtube Q2 settings I set up the recommended exposure bracketing parameters. That"s OK when I want to use the function, 3 photos at different exposures. But I can't find a way to turn this function off. I'd like to be able use exposure bracketing when I want not all the time as if by default. Can anyone help with this please?

Go into the Q menu. Select Drive Mode. You can choose single, continuous, interval, bracketing,...

Easy to change back to bracketing anytime and it will retain your last settings.

A friend with a Leica Q2 says that it performs exposure bracketing by varying ISO, not shutter speed as I'd expect. Is this correct? And if so, any ideas why Leica choose to implement it this way? Effectively are they saying that the noise at the higher ISO is just as acceptable as that at the lower?

Thanks.

Assuming that you are in aperture priority mode, if you have auto ISO It will shift ISO and if you have fixed ISO it will shift Shutter Speed. This is at odds with what the manual says (but as the manual doesn't seem to be updated when Leica issues new firmware this isn't really a surprise)

Note that when you say "noise at the higher ISO is just as acceptable as that at the lower" you could also say, "motion blur at the lower shutter speed is just as acceptable as that at the higher". It all depends on what you are looking for from the picture so there is the option for both types of bracketing
