Safe auto ISO settings for M10 newby

First impressions the M10 is good up to 1600.......maybe even more for landscape but for people shooting 1600 is as high as I would want to go

sorry mate I'm not buying hat a 10000 ISO portraut image is going to look okay........that's just wishful thinking

If you are a solid shooter and understand light and that means low light as well, ISO 10,000 on the M10 is no problem at all. That is what I have the M setting on the ISO dial set to, I use it without hesitation on paying jobs and personal work.

 

Only at ISO 12,800 and above or poorly exposed frames at ISO 10K have I seen even a hint of banding. I find the M10 to be dynamite at ISO 10,000. I rarely use auto-ISO for what that is worth.

go ahead and post a portrait at ISO 10000 along with a 100% crop.......I would like to see what it looks like shot by a professional

I have 3200 as max in my default user profile. But I have no hesitation using 6400 if needed. Obviously, the importance of accurate exposure increases the higher ISO we use.
