Every time I've encountered a Duane Hansen sculpture I've been surprised to find they are not real people.  Once I even tried to engage  one in Santa Fe in conversation -- It was very one-sided.  Here are two at that same Metropolitan museum of Art - Breuer building exhibit.

Never seen this artist  before your recent posts, Stuart.

 

The gritty, almost too intimate, reality of his work is remarkable; kind of like a 3D Andrew Wyeth. If Hemingway were a sculptor, this would be his style.
