stunsworth Posted July 8, 2007 Share #1  Posted July 8, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Taken in the town with the same name as the wine - incidentally Chardonnay is just a small village nearby, I made a detour to see it.  The wine's so expensive in these parts they have to keep it behind bars - which in a way is the right place for it to be!  M8, 35mm ASPH Summicron

earleygallery Posted July 8, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted July 8, 2007 They must really like their wine to name their town after it!!

Chuckcars Posted July 8, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted July 8, 2007 Great shot. Makes you want to find a way inside the place.
stunsworth Posted July 8, 2007 Author Share #5 Â Posted July 8, 2007 Thanks guys. Â It's pretty easy Chuck, you go through the front door - it's a shop window :-)
rfshootist Posted July 9, 2007 Share #6 Â Posted July 9, 2007 As for the prices this must have been a real dispointment after the Bodensee experience. Â Best, Bertram
stunsworth Posted July 9, 2007 Author Share #7 Â Posted July 9, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) You could say it was a little more expensive <ggrin>. Â I nearly stayed overnight in the town, but in the end decided to drive on for another hour or so.

MJLogan Posted July 9, 2007 Share #9 Â Posted July 9, 2007 Pity you didn't stay the night. Hostellerie des Clos in Chablis is, to my mind, a nearly perfect place to stay: a comfortable and reasonably-priced hotel sitting on top of a truly superb restaurant. Lovely photo, though. elansprint72 Posted July 12, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted July 12, 2007 Missed this one. I really like that home-made sign; reminds me of someone from the Wirral; where they all wear sabots at home, so I believe. Â Well seen, selective shot.
