ShawnK Posted June 2, 2018 Share #3 Posted June 2, 2018 Oops. Just caught it. Have no clue what happened to my comment. My iPhone has a mind of its, a.i. at it's worst. Lovely composition. These green glossy panels seem to be 'en vogue' in architecture nowadays, rather tough to photograph w/o being all @ 'those' panels. Kudos..
AndreasAM Posted June 2, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted June 2, 2018 (edited) Oops. Just caught it. Have no clue what happened to my comment. My iPhone has a mind of its, a.i. at it's worst. Lovely composition. These green glossy panels seem to be 'en vogue' in architecture nowadays, rather tough to photograph w/o being all @ 'those' panels. Kudos.. Thanks for the compliment. And I thought you used the empty comment as a positive “bump” of the thread up the ladder!! This is part of the new Hyatt-Regency Spinoza Hotel in the eastern part of the inner city of Amsterdam, the “Plantagebuurt”. This green panel elevation is part of a green tranquil innercourtyard (green panels, but also trees and plants that is), “cut out” of the streetfaçade in a very busy neighbourhood. The streetfacade is made of ceramic panels, as a modern (re-)nterpretation of the brickwork facades of the surrounding 19th century buildings. I like this, using a old material like clay, in new, modern and original detailing and materialisation. It is very straightforward architecture, within the historic volumes of the urban setting. Not pastiche or “Paste and Copy” Architect is Van Dongen Koschuch architects, by the way, not me... this time. As usual the beautiful sharpness of the Summilu-R 80 mm at f4 up to f8 is a bit lost in this low resolution image for the net.
