I can't comment on the Canon 28 except to say that by reputation the Nikkor-W 2.8cm f3.5 in LTM was said to be better? I amateur compared (same scene, tripod, same M9) my Nikkor 2.8cm with a clean Summaron 35/3.5 in LTM, an Elmarit 28 ASPH, and a Summicron 35.2.0 ASPH...yup, the Summicron and Elmarit are "better", but for everyday photography all four are fine. Albeit without having the Canon to compare, I'd doubt you could tell the difference?

It is LTM, not M, Canon never did it in Leica M. Winogrand started with 28 3.5, then 28 2.8 and lately 28 2.8 Elmarit-M.

I have seen his prints with Canon's 28. Not all of them are optically good, but content.

Just like any old Canon RF LTM lens, get ready to get CLA. And as any old RF lens they aren't perfectly clean optically.

I looked at 28 2.8 prices and went for mint, boxed CV Ultron 28 1.9 ASPH. It is as huge as Elmarit-M 28 Winogrand used, but it is faster lens. And works great on film and digital.

It was done for the M mount https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-Canon-28mm-f-2-8-Rangefinder-Lens-for-Leica-M-Mount/323235130281?hash=item4b4250aba9:g:2q0AAOSwgJla6Jkq

One listing on eBay was done? How do we know if it is not the lens with LTM to M?

Here is no M mount version in this more reputable source.
