Hi

Today when I was out shooting with my S-006 and 120 APO I couldn't focus the lens all the way to infinity, first I was very confused but then I saw that it was the adapter for my Lee filter holder that was causing this since it has a larger outer diameter than the lens.

So my question is if anyone here is using the Lee filter system (100mm) together with there Leica S and if you have a solution to this problem?

I was thinking that maybe it would work with a step-up ring (and a wider adapter) to create some extra space between the lens and the adapter.

You can help yourself out of the situation by screwing on a plain 72mm ring. Get an old filter and remove the glass. Or - if you must, use a clear glass filter. Probably they made it flush to not put too much pressure on the drive train, when the lens is put up side down (and with a camera on top). I haven't found it really limiting so far, as I do only use filters for wide angle and sometimes the normal-ish focal lengths.

I just purchased the Hitech-Formatt 100 mm filter kit. I have the same issue on my 120APO. I was able to find a 77-77 step spacer on eBay which I’m waiting to arrive. Basically it’s a doubled up step bring so that I can focus to infinity . I think the price was about $18 US. If it works, I will let you know . Best

I’ve stopped using the Lee filter system. I get good results exposing for the hilights and recovering the shadows in PScc or stacking 3 images that have been shot at varring exposures

Another way to get a spacer at the same diameter is to buy a collapsible rubber lens hood and remove the rubber part.
