Leicaec421 Posted May 1, 2018 Share #1 Posted May 1, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi folks, I am looking for a compact tripod, ideally not too expensive for the M10. I'd like it to be able to extend to at least 1m in height. If you could suggest a specific model (not just a brand like Manfrotto), that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Astropap Posted May 1, 2018 Share #2 Posted May 1, 2018 I got this one last year. Sirui ET-2204 Carbon Fiber Tripod with E-20 Ball Head Very stable but lightweight, folds up to a very small package. Comes with a nice carry bag. Very impressed with it. Amy

johnbuckley Posted May 1, 2018 Share #4 Posted May 1, 2018 I was just about to post about the Sirui. It is fantastic! It weighs 1.5 lbs and can easily be stowed in a backpack. I just used it on a hiking trip out West and it was perfect for both the SL and M10. Also, it comes with a very simple baseplate and head set up that is so much simpler than what Leica sells to go with Gitzos and Manfrottos and more expensive rigs. I cannot recommend more Sirui more highly -- inexpensive, light, sturdy, practical.

marcg Posted May 1, 2018 Share #6 Posted May 1, 2018 According to https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1024704-REG/sirui_bsret2204_carbon_fiber_tripod.html - that tripod weighs 3lbs - double what you have said
indergaard Posted May 1, 2018 Share #7 Posted May 1, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm using the Sirui T-025X Carbon Fiber tripod, and I love it. It's super compact and light-weight, and easily supports the M + heavy lenses. I also use it with a Sony A7RIII and some heavier lenses, and it easily handles it. It's got a hook underneath where you hang your backpack or any other thing on to stabilize the tripod, which is a must for light-weight tripods, as they can easily become a bit unstable.
