Feedback in which way? I find it hard to critique most standalone photographs - but I am and work in the world of project photography, so getting in on one picture is sort of like critiquing a paragraph out of a book. Context is almost always necessary for good and useful criticism.

Lines and Spokes

Leica MP 50mm Summicron with orange filter on Ferranai P30. Home developed and scanned. First time shooting with this film. I’d read it was high contrast… but wow! Had to meter for the shadows and even over expose a little more from there.

Thank you, @pgh.

There are pictures which make you look, and there are boring pictures. I see the repeated framing arches, the vertical rectangular shapes, the silhouetted male figure in an active moment, caught in pretty good sharpness. There's the colour of the light and the stone, so very Mediterranean summer. The bollard on the right provides a bit of foreground interest while the one in the left doesn't distract because of where that line of shadow falls. And of course, there are the exaggerated perspective lines of the bricks and flagstones. The figure is my brother in law, so bonus marks for me when I share it in the group chat, but zero meaning for anyone else.

So, when other people see this photograph, is anyone seeing the geometry, the balance, the colour harmony, and hopefully getting a little hit of cultural resonance, or do people just keep scrolling? Is it a picture worth looking at or just another bland fuzzy click?
