R8/9 DMR Acc. Plug Pin-Out

Hi -

Does any one know the pin-out for the 8-pin acc. socket on the left side of the DMR for the R8/9?

I would like a spare battery, but doubt I will ever find one.

I want to make up a cable for an external battery pack (which I believe can plug into this socket) -

I know connecting pin 1 to 8 activates the meter, and 1 to 2 fires the shutter.

I just need to know which pins are for external power.

If you haven't you could search for DMR batteries, there are a number of posts relating to this and how to get these repaired.

If you do manage to find out the pin layout it would be helpful for other users if you could post the info

Hi,

 

several years ago I got this info from customer service:

 

PIN1 is GND (-)

PIN6 is +

max 8V

3.2 A

This should be the specifications for the external DMR power supply - which was available in the past.

 

To be on the safe side - you can probably verify this once again with the customer service.

I've seen DMR batteries including 'new' examples listed on the Leica Buy & Sell Sub-Forum https://www.l-camera-forum.com/classifieds/  and there were no takers. You could consider placing a 'want to buy' advert to try and source a DMR battery.  Old DMR batteries can be re-celled by Michael Bass in USA http://michaelbass.blogspot.co.uk  …  check out his DMR SC 1059/1060/ 1061 entries; Michael re-celled my DMR battery and also made me a DMR power cord for use with an external Quantum battery.

Michael also re-celled a couple of my battery packs and I purchased a power cord for a quantum battery which worked great through a wedding shoot.
