I don't use the GPS on the camera all that often, but since I upgraded the firmware to v. 3.1 it doesn't appear to be writing the GPS coordinates to the EXIF data. I made sure the GPS was locked on when I shot the pictures, and the satellite icon shows in the margins of the playback view, but the coordinates aren't being imported with the pictures into Lightroom. Anybody else experience this?

I am using FW3.1 and still have the GPS coordinates recorded in the EXIF data.

Just to close the loop on this, I finally sorted out what happened. It wasn't the camera or the firmware, but was instead self-inflicted by a metadata import pre-set I started using in LR around the time FW 3.1 was released. Now reimporting all those images to LR that GPS coordinates are worth bothering over.
