ropo54 Posted April 8, 2018 Author Share #21  Posted April 8, 2018 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I should probably not to continue to post photos taken with the R80 1.4 w the Hb X1D on this forum, but since I had started this thread and a few members were interested, I'll take the liberty to continue with these photos. Thanks for looking. Rob Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! mmradman Posted April 9, 2018 Share #23 Â Posted April 9, 2018 Rob, summilux 80mm pictures look fantastic on any camera really, are these cropped in any way. If so can you please post uncropped image to see the effect of vignetting. Â A while back there were examples on other forum linked here as well that showed effect of Leica R lenses on medium format sensor, essentially it was demonstrated that many lenses have image circle sufficiently large to work on sensor bigger than 24*36mm. It is good that adapters are available to fit legacy lenses to X1D, we live in interesting times.

(I cannot say the same for the Noctilux 95, nor the Voigtlander 15mm III, nor my old 135 f4 elmar, all of which have significant vignetting). That combination is a pleasure to carry around while walking about, and the 45p lens is excellent. Personally, I enjoy it moreso than I did the SL with the SL35 (so sold the SL 35). I have also enjoyed using the the Voigtlander 15mm on the X1D, despite significant vignetting.  Essentially at f8 (if I recall correctly) everything is in focus, and doing a stitched panorama can be a lot of fun. There is sometihng about Summilux R 80mm that no other lens can produce. I have both R 80 and Summilux M 75 and they produce, in my eyes, differnt images at maximum aperture (ignoring slight difference in FL).
