ETinpres Posted March 7, 2018 Share #1 Posted March 7, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I bought MM246 yesterday, and I noticed that my MM246's firmware version is 1.0.1.0. So, I tried to update to newest version which is 1.0.2.2. This was my steps that I did. Format SD card on the MM246 Put the SD card into my Macbook Pro Download the latest firmware file which is Mm-1_022.upm Drag and drop the firmware file to SD card slot (I know what "root directory" means and I did rightly.) Eject the SD card and put into the MM246 Push and holding the info button and turn on the power Then, this message showing up. "File not found. please insert memory card with correct firmware file." I know this error message usually pop up when the firmware file is not on the right place which is root directory. However, I'm a IT guy and I know what root directory means. Also, I made sure many times. What should I do more? Thx.

Philinflash Posted March 10, 2018 Share #2 Posted March 10, 2018 Curious. The manual says: You can download new firmware from our website and transfer it to your camera: 1. Format a memory card in the camera. 2. Turn off the camera and insert the card into an SD/SDHC/SDXC card reader – either integrated or connected to your computer. 3. Download the firmware file from the camera page using the “UPDATES” link. 4. Save the file m-X_xxx.upd at the top level of the card's folder structure. X_xxx stands for the relevant version. 5. Remove the card from your card reader and insert it in the camera. Close the bottom cover and turn the camera on. 6. Hold down the INFO button and turn on the camera. The update process begins. This can take up to 15 minutes. Notes: • If the battery does not have sufficient charge, the warning message Battery low appears. In this case, first charge the battery and then repeat the process described above. • Observe all the instructions concerning putting the camera into operation again. What you did seems to conform with those instructions. Perhaps you could try it with a different SD card.

Philinflash Posted March 11, 2018 Share #4 Posted March 11, 2018 The Leica website produces the file for download OP specified.
Philinflash Posted March 11, 2018 Share #5 Posted March 11, 2018 On the same date, Leica posted the download "M_246-1.0.2.0-CUSTOMER.FW". Maybe that would work better. I have tried neither. Confusing. "1.0.2.0" is more consistent with Leica's usual FW numbering regime.
Philinflash Posted March 12, 2018 Share #6 Posted March 12, 2018 Use the "M_246-1.0.2.0-CUSTOMER.FW" download. That worked for me.
