Samir Jahjah Posted July 4, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) At last I decided to go for the M8 ! This forum has been instrumental in keeping me attracted to it! I guess I ll keep my M6s (or one of them). The M8 seems to operate flawlessly, it focuses perfectly well, at least with the 24 Elmarit, 35 Summicron Asph, and 50 Asph. I have not yet use the other lenses. I noticed though that each time I format a memory card, the settings are reset to the lowest ISO and to JPEG Fine. This is an annoyance. Is there a way to set the quality to DNG so that it stays like this? I will soon post pictures! BTW: I am using Aperture and I am very happy with the conversion. fordfanjpn Posted July 4, 2007 Share #2 Posted July 4, 2007 I noticed though that each time I format a memory card, the settings are reset to the lowest ISO and to JPEG Fine. This is an annoyance. Is there a way to set the quality to DNG so that it stays like this? That's not normal. The settings shouldn't change when you format the card. But I'm afraid I can't offer any advice as to what to do about it. Anyone know how to fix this? Bill
luigi bertolotti Posted July 4, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 4, 2007 Strange... I formatted only a pair of cards (reuse a lot) but do not seem to have noticed this, and am almost sure about the "setting" to jpg you speak of. What is your firmware version ? Etruscello Posted July 4, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 4, 2007 With the M8, one can create up to 3 User Profiles. Press the Set Button and determine a pattern you want for one profile, including DNG and ISO. Then Press Menu and go to Save User Profile. Save your DNG/ISO pattern as User Profile 1. (You cannot use 0, which is always ISO 160 and Jpeg Fine.) After you save a profile, you should be able to format and retain the active profile's ISO and file type. Good luck.
