bencychin Posted February 23, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 23, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I got myself a new finishing of M240 Thumbs Up last evening through an expected way. It is now non coated brass color version. For unknown reason, the original silver anodized coating started to flake when i rub the item when I tried to clean it up. Then I can just easily remove the rest of the silver paint by using my Thumb nail - well it is called Thumbs Up for good reason. So it is now a beautiful brass non coated M240 Thumbs Up. Limited edition - 1 piece only (created by me). Just sharing my unusual experience. Welcome, dear visitor! bencychin Posted February 25, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted February 25, 2018 How does it look on the camera? I took photos using Iphone: The "Brass"TU on my M240. The Ti (Clear) TU on my M240. The Brass was originally Silver anodised. I think the Brass will look outstanding on a Black M240. But no black camera to demo. Cheers. Benedict. Singapore. Welcome, dear visitor! Ernstk Posted February 27, 2018 Share #5 Posted February 27, 2018 I have a brass one on my black paint M-P. The brass is showing through the paint on the Thumbsup in exactly the same way it is doing on the M-P, so it matches nicely. Ernst

sblutter Posted March 14, 2018 Share #7 Posted March 14, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I prefer the Thumbie for 240 - leaves the hot shoe free and lower profile doesn't stab you in the back when camera slung over a shoulder. Still very securely attached after 4 yrs of heavy use. The friend I sold an M9 to still has his in place - 8 or so years
Jean-Michel Posted March 14, 2018 Share #8 Posted March 14, 2018 I replaced my ThumbsUps on both my M9 and MP and am very happy with the switch. It was a bit of a pain to be removing the ThumbsUp on the MP any time I wished to use the EVF, no such issues with the Thumbie. And with the M9, the increased height of the cold shoe added an additional viewing error when using my 21 mm viewer, nice to not have to guess the extra compensation. Now, the ThumbsUp does its job well, but so does the Thumbie.
