Philip G Posted February 10, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 10, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently purchased a used film MP. I would interested to find out when it was made but I can't trace the serial number on the one or two list I have tracked down on the net. The serial number is 3469XXX if anyone can help. Many thanks.
Advertisement Posted February 10, 2018 Posted February 10, 2018 Hi Philip G, Take a look here Dating my film MP. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wattsy Posted February 10, 2018 Share #2 Posted February 10, 2018 I bought my first MP used in around 2008 and it had the serial number 298xxxx, It probably dated from around 2003. I later bought a new MP in 2011 (that may have sat on the dealer's shelves for a year or more) and that had a 383xxxx serial number. Leica use serial numbers in batches and not necessarily in logical order but it might be reasonable to guess your's falls somewhere between 2003 and 2011.
