Hi Folks,

Here is two links to recently published articles at Macfilos on my experience of a year with the X, and a separate article about a decent weekend walk with my X.

I am currently writing a night shoot article, oddly with the X, which will be published in late February or early March depending on Macfilos's publishing schedule.

I hope you enjoy both, and happy to discuss the camera, or take feedback on the articles.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts in review here Dave. I also had an X1 pretty soon after it was introduced and really liked that camera. I guess I sold it because of certain design aspects including the flash on that model......but what a lens!

I've had my X for a few years now and it is a wonderful companion. I get on well enough with the autofocus but as you mention the manual focusing is really well executed on the X 113. The build and design are particularly nice. I was actually out looking at the newly released Q, when I tried the X and far preferred the feel of the X.

Thank you for responding. I love hearing from people who love the X, and the X experience.

I will be interested to hear how you get on if you replace it, and more so, what you replace it with. I am still saving for a Q, or maybe a Q2 - but I real fancy an M with a 35mm Summicron.. can't afford it though.. :(  so still aiming to reach a Q over the coming year or two.

The M cameras are nice, and I love the 35 'cron as well. Prices especially on M9 and M240 have come down. I found a sweet deal on a demo-model Sony RX1R II and have been enjoying that camera currently. It is why I haven't posted much here recently. What I prefer about the RX1R is shallower dof that full-frame coupled with the 35mm lens offers. But frankly when I am using the X, the shallow dof suffices I get just fine. I had an RX1R a couple of years ago and let that one go because the X fit me well in how it handled and rendering. I may find myself back to it before long :)
