This bar room and two restaurants (one Chinese and one the sushi bar "Sushi by Bae") are in an old church and parsonage converted previously to shops, and before that a disco.

Stuart, guessing by your description, is that Limelight by chance ? 

 

if so, while nice looking it has lost EVERYTHING i knew it to be -  that was a cool place back in the late 80's

Richard - Thank you.  Yes the old Limelight, and yes the previous iterations were most interesting.  an artist we know celebrated an opening at the old disco there one night.  The entrance to Sushi by Bae and to Jue Lan are on 20th Street, at the eastern-most end of the property.
