I bought a 70 F2.5 but I'm still on the fence deciding between the 006 and 007, maybe worth to wait a bit more before taking the plunge since I happen to have a GF body around... 🙂

Let's hope the guy will soon release a video of the actual thing in action 🤞

With 006 (with a «new» sensor that dont corrode, important!), you get a look/colour palette that is rather unique at low-ish ISO (say sub 400). With 007 you get a fairly modern - but also a more standard - sensor, also usable at high ISO. The first will help making (some) images in good light that stand out compared to what we otherwise see, the second is more of an allrounder.

On GFX, with IBIS and no mirror movement/shake, I particularly recommended the S120 and S180.

The finished product will be anodized and will be black in colour. 👍

Goodie. Do you happen to know when the adapter will be available?

Thank you for the camera pointers Helged, that was precisely the point, old "CCD magic" vs " more modern look/usability.

But now guess worth to wait to check price/availability and actual performance to this adapter, before taking any decision, especially if it will support GFX 100's PDAF 🙂

Just checking if there is something new to report regarding the adapter...

No price as yet. Kipon are currently testing the adapter with every S lens to ensure that the autofocus isn't too 'keen' (a feeling that I've relayed to Xiaoming Zhang on the forum's behalf).

After quite a lot of filing and tinkering, I finally managed to have that damn Fotodiox adapter to allow my 70 F2.5 to reach infinity 🥳

Until the elusive Kipon AF adapter will be finally available, it will do I guess 🙂

Nice. My 30-90mm performs VERY nicely on my GFX100S.

Congrats; that is quite an achivement; enjoy!

I guess a number of gfx-users look forward to the Kipon adapter. Being able to adjust aperture is clearly an "added bonus" relative to a non-electronic adapter... AF is less 'critical' since gfx's magnify option works fairly well. We will shortly (?) see/know, I presume...

Thank you, at some point I was really about to throw everything out of the window in desperation (also thanks to the flimsy screws but basically welded in that Fotodiox used for the adapter, which made impossible to remove the rear silver mount to file the adapter from the easier side, so have to do it from the much trickier front part), but at the end it became almost personal so I marched on 🙂

I'm fine to use the 70 wide open for now, curious to see how it performs (also in terms of rendereing) versus my Mamiya 80 F1.9@2.8, which so far has proven a quite nice lens to adapt to the GFX.

I use my 30-90mm at f11 on my GFX100S by setting the aperture on my S2-P and then removing the lens whilst holding in the stop down button.

Re the forthcoming Kipon made Leica S to GFX adapter, I received this message today:

"Hi, Thanks for your interest. The product is in production and will soon undergo testing. It is expected to be released in one month. I will remind you then. Thank you!"

Take a look at the "Leica S System" group on Facebook for a video of the 35mm S lens focussing on the GFX100S.

I'll probably wait until next Spring before I get one as it probably wouldn't get much use over the wintertime in any case (we don't get a lovely covering of snow here). That will also give time for reports to filter back on how it performs (which should be just fine as Kipon did very thorough testing with all of the S lenses). All being well, I can then sell my S2-P to fund the adapter purchase.
