RonM Posted January 7, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 7, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am awaiting the arrival of an M-10 to replace the M 240 I have been using. I had that camera (manually) coded for use with the old 21mm Voigtlander f/4.5 Color Skopar, and had good results. I am looking for suggestions as to what coding to use with that lens and the 35mm f/2 Zeiss Biogon that I will be using with the M-10? I know the 15mm Voigtlander-III can work well on the M-10 without coding and wonder if that might be an alternative to the old 21?
Advertisement Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 Hi RonM, Take a look here Lens codes for the M-10 ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
adan Posted January 7, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 7, 2018 As far as I know, the specific codes needed for a given lens are the same with an M10 as any previous Leica FF. However, be aware that the M10 is much pickier about recognizing non-Leica manual markings than the previous cameras. None of the hand-made "Sharpie" coding I put on lenses, that worked on an M9, are recognized by the M10 (or else they are recognized in strange ways, such as a 90mm recognized as a 35 f//1.4 ASPH ). Now, it just so happens that I tried out an M-mount 21mm Color-Skopar f/4.0 (was that what you meant?) on the M10 a month ago, using the menu to ID it as a 21mm Elmarit pre-ASPH. It came out pretty good - perhaps just a faint hint of purple on the right side. Welcome, dear visitor! RonM Posted January 7, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted January 7, 2018 Adan, Thank you for the reply. Yes, I did mean the f/4; did not mean to make it even slower! I did use the 21mm Elmarit profile with the 240, and it worked well, ( similar to your example ) but I thought that since the M-10 uses a different sensor, the profile might be different. I will definitely try that setting, and plan to manually select the lens, and not rely on painting on the code.
a.noctilux Posted January 7, 2018 Share #4 Posted January 7, 2018 Ron, Don't worry, if it works on M240, it would work also on M10, if you choose selection in manual the lens in the list. For the Zeiss Biogon 2/35, I would try 2/35 Asph. to begin with.
RonM Posted January 8, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted January 8, 2018 Thanks, a.noctilux. I will give that a try with the Boigon. Now the M-10 just has to arrive!
