Hi everyone...

I got my M10 about two months ago, together with Visoflex 020. Two days ago the shutter release stop working, after reset the camera it works for a while but then stop working again, even after I update the firmware to 1.10.4.0.

Does anyone experience the same? What should I do other than send it to Leica to fix?

Thanks,

Edi

Are you using with visoflex?  Is the battery fully charged?  I'd recommend removing Visoflex, removing the battery and recharging.  Then trying again WITHOUT visoflex to start with.

Have to say I've never had this problem...  M10 is rock solid for me...

It happened a few times to mine. Sometimes I thought it was because of the Visoflex, but there were times I was not using the Visoflex and it still happened.

Fix is the usual - switch off the camera, pull the battery out, put it back in and switch the camera back on.

It may also have been due to shooting a few images in quick succession. I don’t remember if being in C or S mode was the culprit, but I do remember the shutter becoming unresponsive exactly when all the components of the scene came into perfect position.

Chris gave you nice advice.

Give it a try without Visoflex.

Sometimes, when I use M10 with Visoflex 020, I couldn't trip the shutter.

And touching the M10, it's hot and I take the Viso off and let the camera cool down.

After cooling down, no shuttering problem any more.

I think that M10 is thinner (and become hot quickly with Viso, in hot environment) and using Visoflex may be above the M10's ability dissipating of heat.

Chris and all, thank you for the advice.

Yes, am using Visoflex and yes I suspect that’s make the shutter didn’t work. First attempt, I take out the Visoflex and reset the camera to factory setting, it works for sometime but a day after when shoot in a bright sunny day using Visoflex again, it didn’t work again. Tried to pull out the battery, reset the camera, no luck.

So, am preparing to send it out to Leica or is there any ither way?
