Hello guys,

few weeks before the official lens release I was asked by Leica Camera to test one of the first new Thambar lenses and to produce a portrait to show the lens's potential.

Here's where you can find some thoughts about this experience: https://eoloperfido.com/blog/leica-thambar

Hope you will find it useful :)

Bye!

Thanks, I remember this photograph from the examples shown by Leica. It put me in mind of Paolo Roversi and showed that this lens, in the right hands, offers something to the M system. I was a bit scathing about this lens in the run up to its predicted rerelease. My disdain was fuelled by looking at the Flickr group which comprises mostly very bad photographs taken with the original ltm Thambar. However, the selection provided by Leica (including your’s) are far more interesting and I am quite keen to try out this lens at some point (though not for portraiture).

I've created a Facebook group for this mythical Thambar lens, please post your photos taken with the old or the new Thambar 90mm f2.2
