I still have no idea what a summercrome is :)

Michael, if you start trying to correct all of Neil's creations you'll be letting yourself in for a new full-time job.

It's interesting how clear his posts usually are, how easily we can interpret meaning from context, and how it proves that worrying about spelling is largely a waste of time.

They're great aren't they! I just can't see how summercrome came from misspelling summaron!

Likely because summercrome is his spelling for Summicron, and he doesn't understand the distinction between that and Summaron. Or he's just trolling us after all these years playing ignorant.

Okay. So I just went to see mr Woo and try out the new M10. As soon I put it in my hand it felt right (missing a nipple though) we messed around with the diopters and came up with a +1 with my permission glasses and a +1.5 without glasses. I decided to go with the +1 as I still wanted to be able to see the dials on the camera. I’m now in the pub having a few cold ones and when I get home I will see how the camera/me performed

You didn't shoot full DNG?

An hour or so after being in the pub you already edited and made prints?

Are you serious or just yanking our chain?

Frigging nightmare. That’s what happens when you assume stuff. Like the camera settings are correct........ just never crossed my mind to Check.

Anyway. Mr Woo just apologized and said I can try again when I come back from Japan so I will give it another bash on the 27th.

Not sure if I liked the shutter sound though but in the hand it felt ausum. I will give it another bash on the 27th and report back

The 28 Summaron is one of the few wide-angle rangefinder lenses that actually works on the Sony sensor.

You either set the shutter with the camera with auto-ISO or use aperture priority and bump the ISO if needed and you are set to go, choose an aperture and set a distance. Really easy.

The 50 Noctilux also works (better than the 50 Summilux) but it is much more tricky to handle and use, needs more patience.

Not only that, but you need to check all settings and take time to import files, take time to learn how to best adjust them to make fine prints. And then judge the prints.... and even better if you compare same subject against the S.

Your posts were less than a couple hours apart from the pub to conclusion about camera differences. Makes me think that you're just playing with us. No serious photographer/printer could be.... well, serious.

Don't like the shutter sound? Compared to a honking S? Yes, you're just being jokester Neil.

What part? The joking or the basis for serious comparison?

Jeff

Jeff I’m not taking the piss. Yes I screwed up with the settings on the camera but nothing lost. I will try again on the 27tjh.

Give me a break bro. I’ve just had a c;$&) of a hitch offshore....... I’m glad to be home

Well you should realize that it's often hard to judge what's serious and what's not given all your prior adventures and discussions.

The M10 isn't an S. But it's a fabulous M.... with all that entails. And the prints should be at least as good as those from the SL.
