karlitos Posted June 30, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted June 30, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've just been processing some files through C1 and discovered a pattern of dots throughout all the images. Perfectly uniform like a grid. This shows only on the RAWs and also show up when put through ACR. I have looked back at older images and also found the problem but because they where never printed above 5x7 I never noticed. Now I've printed some images at A3/A4 I really have started to notice them. Am I missing something? or doing something daft? (probably the latter) Any pointers would be gratefully received. None seem to have the problem your shows. Here's one from two weeks ago that was processed through Lightroom and PS C3. When I look at it in C1 it seems clean. graeme_clarke Posted July 1, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted July 1, 2007 The problem seems to be with C1. I've downloaded the latest version of C1 (3.77) and processed the file through it. Here are two enlarged versions of the same file, the first through C1 , the second through LR. The LR file is a much smaller size, and the grid of spots is visible in C1. I don't think it's C1, I believe the camera needs to be sent back for service - doing that, it's better to attach a CD-ROM with the images in question, also a sample print identifying the problem. Here is the shot. Â In a nutshell, the grid appears when processed through Capture One, but not when done through Adobe Camera Raw, or through Lightroom. The results are that RAWs processed with ACR before C1 was updated do not show this problem. THIS IS A C1 ISSUE. C1 processed RAWs show the bug in Photoshop but I have discovered that the untouched RAWs (that I store in seperate folder) that where inported by C1 can by put through ACR without the problem. FWIW I only picked this up when I had to crop some images quite heavily (which is something I try to avoid anyway) I have not picked up on this at all with M8 or DMR RAWs. I can only assume that this is a glitch with C1 software which is a real shame as most of my images go through this program. I have gone and looked at some of my printed images up to A3+ and 95% do not show the problem - it is only the odd one or two that where cropped. It is something to bear in mind for anyone who is using C1, I like this software-brilliant for WB and sharpening and I hope that the bug gets sorted. If someone here has some influence -Sean Reid:) they could do with a nudge. Alternatively if someone knows a hack to avoid it I would be grateful.
