Hoppe Posted November 10, 2017 Share #1 Posted November 10, 2017 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently bought a used TL 23mm lens. When I do a close focus (approx. 30cm.), I can’t set it to f2.0. It will automatically set to a larger aperture. Is this normal? scott kirkpatrick Posted November 15, 2017 Share #3 Posted November 15, 2017 That's a bit strange. The Leica technical document gives MTFs at f/2.0 for both infinity and near focus, although it doesn't say how near this is. The spec for the 60 macro TL shows f/2.8 at infinity and only describes f/4.0 at close focus. Of course, one can't read too much into this, as the specs for the zooms show performance at f/3.5 at all focal lengths. Does anyone know how the maximum aperture changes with focus distance with the TL primes?
Guest Posted November 16, 2017 Share #4 Posted November 16, 2017 It looks like the 23mm stops down to 2.8 at closest focus, then graduates to 2.0 by about .5m You can set the camera to MF and Aperture priority to see how it changes with your manual focus. The 35mm is a constant 1.4. I hope this is helpful.
