ericperlberg Posted June 29, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) The other day I had my first battery failure but since I read about the problem here earlier I just switched to my other battery and everything was up and running again with no probs. Except now, when ever I turn on my camera it shows me a jpg number of frames in the frame counter even though I shoot RAW. I shoot a test shot and check the info and sure enough, its still a DNG file and not jpg but the counter will still show the jpg count. It's happening regularly now. I did a search for the problem but didn't see anything mentioning this problem which I find hard to believe. Does anyone else get this? Guy, is this in the firmware fix? Advertisement Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 Hi ericperlberg, Take a look here Frame Counter shows jpg count instead of RAW count. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted June 29, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 29, 2007 It is probably something in firmware; mine have been doing this from time to time when changing SD cards or batteries since 1.102. But after formatting or even switching off and on the count is correct again. I had not even been thinking about it, I must confess.
trs Posted June 29, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 29, 2007 Sorry about the accidental post, my mouse and keyboard combination some how posted it. ------------------------ It started from the first firmware, 1.9x. It is really annoying. Here is my observation: 1) JPG to RAW switch: when you switch from JPG to RAW shooting mode, count will show high. I just started to ignore now. After you take few pictures and turn off/on, count will be correct one. (However, I think I also saw changing to correct one after few shot). 2) RAW to JPG: It does not change to JPG count. As a matter of fact, it does not change shot count until you take enough shot that equals to size of one RAW image. Then, finally count goes one down. But, real count won't start until you turn off and back on again. I am pretty sure I saw reboot not helping if you did not take a shot before hand. As I said, I just learned to ignore now. So, I started to forget. I think Guy said it has already been reported when I posted the sympton a while back. But, I could have mistaken for some other issue though. -tanka
