Csacwp Posted October 17, 2017 Share #1 Â Posted October 17, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a 35mm cron asph, 50 apo, 75 lux, 90 apo, and Nikkor 105mm f/2.5. I mainly shoot portraits, but I also do a lot of travel photography/documentary and some landscapes. I'm looking to either sell my 35mm or 50mm. For the travel and lamdscape, which would you keep? What are the pros and cons of each?
Advertisement Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Hi Csacwp, Take a look here Help choosing which lens to sell. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Ecar Posted October 17, 2017 Share #2 Â Posted October 17, 2017 You are going to get many different answers anyway, but I wouldn't be without a 35 (or a 28) AND a 50 for travel and landscape. If the reason for selling is to raise funds, I'd sell both and replace both with "lower-cost" alternatives. Or perhaps just keep the 35 and replace the APO with a Summilux? spydrxx Posted October 17, 2017 Share #3 Â Posted October 17, 2017 If shooting mostly landscape, I'd sell my 50. The pros & cons of each lens have been heavily discussed in other posts.
Jeff S Posted October 17, 2017 Share #4 Â Posted October 17, 2017 Why don't you tell us your thoughts; you're the one with results using the 2 lenses, with some reason presumably to sell one. Â Jeff
Csacwp Posted October 17, 2017 Author Share #5 Â Posted October 17, 2017 The rendering of the 35mm seems bland to me at best. I'm not inspired when using it. That said, the larger field of view is incredibly useful at times.
Jeff S Posted October 17, 2017 Share #6 Â Posted October 17, 2017 I'd worry about bland pics, not bland rendering, from any of these fine lenses. But alternatives can be rented, demoed, borrowed or purchased, new or used. And there is such a thing as trades. The 35 Summarit is also superb.
