Einst_Stein Posted October 1, 2017 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) My LCD original protection film is scratched. To avoid damaging the LVD itself I am keeping the protection film, but it looks ugly. I also have the leather halh case. I searched the scratch resistance protection like those used on cell phone, but have not find any that matches TL size yet. None is willing to cut the avaulable ones to fit. Any suggestion? ropo54 Posted October 1, 2017 Share #2 Posted October 1, 2017 Any suggestion? Leica sells an LCD protector for $25 USD. 2 protectors come in the package. The protector is excellent, albeit expensive. Rob

Einst_Stein Posted October 2, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted October 2, 2017 please give more details. Exatly which protector ypu choose ...and how it works. I found on ebay the following tupes: film, polycarbonate, and tempered glass. BHphoto used to carry some glass type before but now discontinued. I tend to think the glass type is the best as it is common on cell phones. But why it is discontonued? and why it is not as popupar as the phone? founf known problems? Don't know what is polycarbonate, but it seems rather soft and mot scratch resistance. A scratched cover is not better than acscrstch film. Forget the film, Leica T already came woth that and is scratched, I sm not interested in changin= 5hat film once for every while.

The film is really great in way so that it is not even noticeable that there is something on the screen. It is so thin that goes unnoticed. But it scratches quite easily; the film itself, obviously protecting the LCD. They are usually sold in 6 pcs bundles and whatnot so easy tor replace. The tempered glass on the other hand is a little thicker so the edges can be noticed but it does not scratch easily and I would think it will protect way better when dropped. After having both, I have decided to go with the tempered glass.
