To continue the series of lifebuoys - some first test shots with my "new old" M9 + Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f/1.0 ASPH @ F1.0 from DNG raws with some processing:

...and some more color pop:

I agree with others, that orange must be reduced a little. The vignetting comes from the lens, which has quite a strong light fall off towards the corners at F1.0. Regarding the colors and tonality: Of course quite a lot of pop already in the DNGs (when developing with Adobe Camera Raw) and also added some nostalgic look and pop. So that's not straight from the camera but the files definitely provide a rich basis.

I think it was taken with a 50mm Summicron. Love the vibrant color straight out of the camera.

Nice, rarely see the 28lux on M9. Seems like it gives punchy colors!

Cheers, I think M9 / M-E  produces very vibrant colors, no matter which lenses are used. I also like its B&W jpgs.

Hi there! I am one of the guys who purchased M-E 220 now in 2024 - really mint unit with 1k actuations and with CCD low-pass filter replaced by Kolari Vision. I immediately fell in love with this camera and paired it with Voigtlander Ultron 35mm Asph. Vintage. Posting some pictures here.

Before that my plan was to purchase an M11 but after reading numerous threads here and also in other discussions regarding hardware and software issues of M11, I opted to enter Leica world with less expensive digital M body. Now I know I will be probably buying 2nd body (M10-P) and longer lens too (Nokton 75mm or Summicron 90mm).

Regards,

Luke

Congrats on your purchase Luke, enjoy it. Welcome to the world of older tech proving the newest isn't necessary. 👍
