hm1912 Posted August 5, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted August 5, 2006 Thanks Victor. The crazy thing was that the area was totally crazy busy maybe an hour before. I can't remember the time of day, but it was kind of cool how "quiet" it was. When I was a student in London, a friend and I did a walk around London on Christmas day photographing the city totally closed down. I've got a photo someplate of Oxford Street completely empty of traffic. Unfortunately, I don't have an electronic copy of the picture for posting. Hope you're well. PhotoArchival Posted August 5, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 5, 2006 Great framing in this shot. The bottom left corner is a bit distracting, but can be easily fixed if you choose to do so. How high were you when you snapped this? Were you on the rooftop? Amado
vic vic Posted August 6, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 6, 2006 true ilan - when u femiliar with some place (like the smae oxford street or azrieli area) and u suddenly see it empty - it is a kind of surialistic feeling :-)))

hm1912 Posted August 6, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted August 6, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Amado and Haim: Thanks very much for your comments. I took this photo from the top of the Azrieli towers, where you can see a panorama view of all of Tel Aviv. Victor, when I was in Israel last I wanted to go on a night skate in Tel Aviv, where a bunch of in-line skaters get together and go skating on a pre-determined route in the city. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go, but I've found the "night skate" to create a similar sensation, where there are hundreds of people on skates, taking over the otherwise busy traffic of urban centers. jmr Posted August 6, 2006 Share #8 Posted August 6, 2006 Ilan, very effective composition. To me, it seems that you've captured a nice sense of movement and flow with this one.
hm1912 Posted August 6, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted August 6, 2006 Thanks very much JR. If I remember, to get this shot I had focus, and then sit on the floor and hold the camera above me in order to avoid reflection from the window (I was indoors). It was too dark to use a polarizer, so I had to resort to all sorts of crazy contortions. I'm glad they worked! I'm also sure that any improvement in my photography has come from being a member of this forum, seeing so many great pictures, and reading so many constructive comments.
