kdemas Posted July 2, 2007 Share #41 Posted July 2, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am bummed as I actually lost my Leica order sheet for the 30% off deal. Oh well, I probably didn't need to spend the money anyway. I would have probably gone for the 75/1.4 if I had found it, one of the lenses I am still pining over. carstenw Posted July 2, 2007 Share #42 Posted July 2, 2007 The 75 Lux was off the list anyway. Great lens though.
Shootist Posted July 2, 2007 Share #43 Posted July 2, 2007 The 75 Lux was off the list anyway. Great lens though. Wasn't it on the original list? And removed from the more recent offerings.
carstenw Posted July 3, 2007 Share #44 Posted July 3, 2007 Yes, that's right, but presumably, as with the TE and the 28/2.8, you couldn't get it any more?
holgerf Posted July 3, 2007 Share #45 Posted July 3, 2007 Yes, that's right, but presumably, as with the TE and the 28/2.8, you couldn't get it any more? Hi Carsten, if you did not made up your mind yet about the nocti and are interested in trying it out - I do have one and would be glad to lend it to you. Just give me a massage. Nice day Holger P.S. Ar you getting up THAT early?
carstenw Posted July 3, 2007 Share #46 Posted July 3, 2007 Wow, that's amazingly generous of you to offer. Okay, I will contact you. I assume that instead of "massage" you meant "message"? I don't get up that early, but woke up in the middle of the night and made one post
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted July 3, 2007 Share #47 Posted July 3, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) >> Carsten I could offer a 35mm SUMMILUX-Aspherical, for a try . It´s close to the Asph. version qualitywise, nobody could tell the difference. PM if interested. But: NO massage wanted from this side. Best
carstenw Posted July 3, 2007 Share #48 Posted July 3, 2007 My god, with a bit of planning and pleading, I could have the entire Leica lineup for a test I will contact you too. What a wonderful forum this is.
Guest guy_mancuso Posted July 3, 2007 Share #49 Posted July 3, 2007 Carsten don't try that lens it is addicting. LOL Seriously on the Germany trip i borrowed the Nocti from the academie and i came home thinking of changing things around with regards to lenses. Many folks shoot the Nocti wide open but try stopping it down some also. i was actually contemplating selling the 75mm lux and get the 75mm cron since i ordered the nocti with my voucher, i figured I have the ultimate soft /sharp lens with the Nocti now . My thinking now is the 50 lux and Nocti or get a 50 cron and the Nocti which maybe a better pairing. Sell or trade the 75 lux for the 75mm cron . Than maybe sell my 90 cron since i have the 90 macro than have the 135 apo. So maybe something like this 50 cron, Nocti, 75mm cron, 90 macro, 135 apo Today i have this 50 lux, Nocti coming, 75 lux, 90 apo, 90 macro 135 apo I could just sell the 75 lux and 90 cron and just replace with a 75 cron and than use the Nocti for the soft/sharp character lens. Been tossing this one around but i did eventually really started falling in love with the Nocti, but i also was using it for other things besides night shooting or it's special F1 look and if you use it for other shooting it starts to make some more sense for it. Tough call
carstenw Posted July 3, 2007 Share #50 Posted July 3, 2007 Guy, the 75 Lux often has nicer bokeh than the Noctilux... The 28/2.8 ASPH is back on the new list! I just got a letter from Leica.
Eoin Posted July 3, 2007 Share #51 Posted July 3, 2007 Ahh, so the worm turns!.(not for one moment describing you as a worm:D ). Interesting to read your post Guy, you seem to be going in the direction of my thought process with regard to the Noctilux. Obviously it made an impression on you in Germany. I'll look forward to seeing some more shots you took with this while you were there. What did you think about it around f:/2.8 - f:/4 ?.
Guest guy_mancuso Posted July 3, 2007 Share #52 Posted July 3, 2007 Well Carsten you maybe right and i would like to actually see some tests on the 2 lenses the 75 lux againstthe 50 Nocti just thye focal length alone would say 75 lux is better one would think. Eoin i found the Nocti to be pretty damn good after f1 at F1 you get the glow look but as you stop down it starts to look like the 50 lux or similar to it and very sharp. I have a bunch from germany let me post a few nocti shots that maybe stopped downa little , here is one for sure and maybe like 2.8 i think. Wish the Exif data was there on aperture. i think i may start a new thread on this , let's do that Welcome, dear visitor! carstenw Posted July 4, 2007 Share #53 Posted July 4, 2007 Here are the latest delivery estimates from Leica for the four lenses I was considering: - 35mm f/1.4 Summilux-M ASPH. - 4 weeks - 50mm f/1.0 Noctilux-M - 4 months - 75mm f/2.0 Apo-Summicron-M ASPH. - 4 weeks - 90mm f/2.0 Apo-Summicron-M ASPH. - 4 weeks It seems that Leica is catching up with everything except the Noctilux. I think I will also order a Noctilux. The prices are on the rise, and I may not be able to afford it again.
Gary B Posted July 7, 2007 Share #54 Posted July 7, 2007 Missing 28/2.8 I ordered a 28/2.8 on or about 4/10/07 with a letter to Solms along with the required receipts and I got the receipts back in 3-4 weeks. I have not heard from Leica USA or Germany since regarding the lens ordered. Who do you think that I should contact to see if the ball is rolling or if it as a flat spot?
